Can anyone me and my daughter? We are filling out CSU application and when we put everything in, her GPA is 3.71 and when we go to add her college elective class from community college which should count as honors HMN 3, it only brings her GPA up to 3.73. When we did it by hand with the CSU GPA calculator, it went up to 3.83.
Which CSU are you talking about!
One course would not likely increase a GPA by as much as your hand calculation.
CSU apply website.
How many college classes did she do?
Your question might well be better answered in the California Colleges forum here:

I see you mean California.
But next time…could you please name the colleges.
CSU could also be Cleveland State University.
CSU’s cap their extra honors points to 8 semesters or 4 year long courses. If she has more than the maximum, then her GPA will not be higher than the cap.
If the calculation is wrong, there have been some issues with the Cal Apply Website this year, just self report her classes and grades, and the schools will recalculate the correct GPA.
one extra A, even a bonus point A, will not raise your GPA a full tenth after junior year. Mathematically impossible. sorry
Not doing the math but, just to clarify, the CSUs (the California State University system) calculates GPA using only certain classes (“A-G” requirements) from 10th and 11th grades only. So, it’s possible one class, particularly if it’s one of the up to 8 honors/APs permitted, could swing a GPA more than one might think.
Good luck to the op and her daughter.
I did the math, and no, one course cannot make that much of a swing. (California resident who has been calculating a-g GPA’s for quite a few years.)
Assume a kid take 5 a-g courses per year. Times two semesters. Times three years. 30 courses total. Add one college course plus bonus point = 31 courses. That one course cannot move the total average of the other 30 that much.
