CSULB Admissions for 'Local' Students - Is it actually guaranteed?

I’ve been obsessing over CSULB. I know there are many schools out there that may be better, but CSULB is the closest to me and it’s a pretty good school.

I just went over their transfer admissions requirements and came across this particular line:

I also found this on the CSU Mentor website regarding the local admission guarantee that seems to confirm my suspicions:

[quote]
Under the local admission guarantee, local CSU-eligible first-time freshmen and local upper division transfer students will be admitted to a local CSU campus on the basis of established CSU system admission policies.

The major I’m looking at is Computer Science and Computer Engineering. They require (combined) the following (which I have all of):

Seeing as I have the minimum requirements (GPA 3.35 & all the classes) and I’m from a local high school (verified), does that mean I have a good chance of getting in? The major I’m choosing is impacted (all CSULB majors are), but it is not highly impacted. I’m just so nervous about this whole process because I don’t want to have any ‘safe’ bets and then get let down - that and I’m really anxious to transfer.

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked, I’m just new to this and very excited.

@doodlemissy I have no experience with transfer admissions, but i was admitted to comp sci at lb with a 3.23 uc gpa and 2040 sat score (high school stats) a few months ago. I believe this to be one of their most impacted majors, so i think that being local does give you a significant advantage. Good luck

I’ve heard that if you’re a LBlocal and you have a 3800 index AND you are applying to an impacted major, you will get in. any other locals under that will be accepted, but will be under undeclared. I’ve learned this in class a few days ago.
