Csulb cheap?

So I heard Long beach is one of the most cost friendly compared to it's competitors. From what I see, though, the tuition seems the same. What else makes LB state affordable?

I would like to walk away from graduation with 0 debt.

really impossible unless you have the money to make that happen.

sorry to sound pessimistic. i get max pel grant money, max cal grant, and max school grant money and even then i still need to pull out a 3000 dollar loan since im housing.

if youre not housing then if you get max grant money youre probly good. but it is waaaay cheaper comapred to UC’s, and other cal states, especially with the rising tutition costs everywhere

What would be max college grant? I also get pell and cal but I will be transferring after 3 years in cc. So I’ll only get one more year of cal. That’s what I’m really afraid of.

I live close by, but close enough for 7-8 o’clock classes in the morning.

i get a little over 5000 from the school. and yeah if youre not housing thats 10,000+ you dont have to worry about. if i didnt have to house id never had to take out a loan

It’s definitely possible under certain conditions…
-If you are a California resident and get the resident rates on tuition
-Get a Cal grant and/or Pell grant.
-If you have a job or parents who pay for stuff
-Live at home or with someone for free
-Scholarships

All of these aren’t required, but the more stuff you can get the better.

I’m a transfer student, so I qualify for a Cal grant that is enough to cover my tuition. Also, I qualify for an additional Cal grant to help pay for books. Plus, I have a 0 EFC so I’ll get the full amount for the Pell grant and the FSEOG. This doesn’t leave me much to live on, so I will either be getting a job, taking out loans, or mooching off my family and boyfriend.

CSUs are much cheaper than UCs and private universities, but coming from a CC, I could see why you would think they’re not considering how much cheaper it is to attend a CC.
