As a transfer, I am really interested in what people think of the CSUN accounting program. I have read in a few places that employers and whatnot REALLY like CSUN's accounting grads, and many firms do recruit CSUN accounting grads, giving them jobs upon graduation, and internships throughout the academic year.

But whoever I mention CSUN to says that there are better schools. And I have nowhere else to go for advice so I thought I'd come here.

Is CSUN's accounting program prestigious? Or a joke?

I plan on going to law school after my BS, so I wanted to see if CSUN is as crappy as people make it out to be, or if the accounting program is actually good.

I can't think of any better way to phrase the question lol.

Thank you very much, and I hope you're all having a good Thanksgiving weekend.

Never heard of CSUN… I’m assuming it’s a cal state campus by the first two letters.

Employment is always a good thing, but not saying much, especially for accounting majors. This is a situation where, to be considered prestigious, you aren’t looking at if the grads are getting jobs, but what kinds of jobs grads are getting.

I think it’s safe for me to assume it’s definitely not a prestigious accounting program. If it is part of the cal state system, I would assume it’s a joke with a punch line that’s not very clever, but that would be unfair seeing as I just learned CSUN existed today.

Cal state northridge lol. I keep hearing mixed things… For every person that says their accouting program is top notch there is someone else that says it’s a joke. thinking a double major in accounting and information systems will be very nice, especially since I want to go to law school afterwards (CPA before or after law school is something else I’m contemplating but I made another thread for that lol)

I’m also wondering the same thing about CSUN. I just applied an hour ago as an extra option. I keep hearing SLO and SDSU are the best CSU’s for business, but I have a friend who goes to CSUN (on the baseball team) and his coach said the business program there is VERY good. My major is also accounting if that helps.
