I am looking at myunc at the classes still available. Almost none are. Are there classes reserved for each CTOPs or is what is on there all still not filled?

They do reserve spots for each CTOPS session, so what you see online is kind of misleading… Don’t stress!

They do reserve some spots for each CTOPS session, but those go really quick. Especially if you register late in the day at CTOPS, which you can’t really control.

My advice? Register for what you can at CTOPS, but you don’t have to let that be your final schedule. If you really want a class, you have several options:

1) Check Student Central religiously during the first couple weeks of classes for classes that you want. A lot of times, people will go the first class and decide they don’t want to take it anymore and then drop it. So if you’re on Student Central at the right time, you may end up being able to add a couple classes that you want.

2) Email the professor and ask if they’re accepting any more students. Sometimes professors will add you to the class just because you asked, and they’re allowed to exceed the registration limit.

3) Alternatively, it also helps to go to the first class, sit through it, and then ask the professor to add you after class. I’ve seen professors add 10+ people after the first class just because they showed up.

Hope that helps!
