ok so i started doing that shopping cart stuff online and i unclicked the box "show open classes only". Is that ok? I get a lot more selection when I do this b/c very few open classes exist and i'm thinking that the closed/waitlisted ones will open during ctops. By the by, would waitlisted classes be smart to add before ctops and go on assuming they will open at the orientation? Or is it that the class with the certain professor is kindda full and I have no better option but to pursue the same class with a diff professor. Would like someone's opinion soon b/c I'm in my focused mood today and the next week will be sort of busy for me to do this.

As I understand it - some classes open each ctops section - so yes, put the classes you are interested in … in your planner. ALL of them. Then put your desired schedule in your shopping cart - when you are able to register at ctops - click register and see what you get. You will then need to go back to your planner and fill out your schedule. You might also be able to tell - on the information in the class - it may say, 60 seats, 60 registered - that may mean it won’t open up… not sure about that.

Don’t worry about CTOPs reg. It universally sucks. Try to get a few classes you want but don’t sweat it. You can/should completely re-register at the beginning of the year.
