OOS S to attend mid July session to coincide with family vacation. Anyone have experience or advice regarding both parents and 13 yr old sibling attending CTOPS as well?

We attended the last August CTPOS last year. We also brought along our younger son, then 15. They did not have much programing for him, but he was old enough to entertain himself for the most part. Plus since it was the last session we had our son's dorm room as place he could hang out. As for us we enjoyed the various programs, we found them to be very helpful as a parent sending our first child off to college.

Thanks LEDad. This will be 3rd student off to college so we're getting pretty good at it. Must admit we were a little shocked that we were required to pay for this opportunity. No doubt good stuff but $ 80 for each parent?

. My son went also he was probaby 12 or 13. He enjoyed parts and was a little bored at times, but I think overall, went well. He bought a football at the bookstore and found some students in the Pit to throw the ball with him.
I got a hotel with in walking distance so he could sleep in if he wanted.
he brought his psp or gameboy whatever....managed to survive. laughed about the skits...made him want to go to college then.

For both of my D's, just one parent went. Not sure that is necessary for both...but i would say over half had two parents there. Its a fun time, especially if it is the first one to go....you will have a lot to talk about after. Probably the closest you will get to going back to college!

is it okay for my parents to come along with me to CTOPS, but actually not participate in their program?
