I recently heard about this program, but I don't know much about it. Someone told me you had to be recruited, or your guidance counselor would tell you if you were eligible. Is this true? I'm interested in doing a program like RSI or CTY for a challenge and something interesting to do over the summer. I know that these programs are extremely hard to get into, so I probably won't be able to participate in them. For those of you who got into one of these programs, were you "recruited"? Did you have to submit standardized test scores? My parents want me to take the SAT or PSAT to see if I can get into one of the summer programs(I'm in 8th grade btw). That's because today I was really bored (home from school) so I went on College Board and took a full length practice test. I got a 2150, so I'm guessing that on the real test I might be able to get 2000, considering I didn't study for this practice test. I know it's only one test, and it's probably not 100% accurate, but I heard that the SAT scores required to get into CTY aren't that high. Can anyone tell me about how they got into CTY or RSI? Thanks.

EDIT: Never mind, I just found out CTY isn't very selective, it's just a fun summer program.
