Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp., the aerospace arm of Westminster-based metal-packaging manufacturer Ball Corp. (NYSE: BLL), is considering a major expansion to its aerospace operations in Boulder.
Late last year, the firm submitted to city planners documents that show Ball’s intent to build three new buildings at its 1600 Commerce St. campus that would add 375,000 square feet on the roughly 27-acre site.
Can a student take the engineering curriculum while in Exploratory studies or does it effectively add a year to their studies? My Mech Eng student was also offered Expl studies despite top stats and ECs. Not sure it’s worth it for OOS tuition when he has other offers. Thank you.
Please use caution when accepted under Exploratory Studies. There are no guarantees a student will be accepted into their choice major in their sophomore year. To transfer in the most popular majors there is a GPA requirement and a “space availability” factor.
Maybe ask admissions. My daughter just turned down her admission and scholarship at CU for mechanical engineering for another top engineering program. Remember there will be kids doing the right thing and turning down admissions so others can be moved into the competitive majors! Good luck!
Thank you! On the advice of the college counselor at his high school, he sent an email to confirm his background and intention of studying engineering. No response until a few weeks later (this week) when he received an email suggesting he check on an update to his portal. There it was w/the College of Engineering! It’s really nice to know that can work!
