CU-Boulder or University of Arizona?

Which school is better, specifically for civil engineering? I am an AZ resident but believe I can get a good scholarship to both schools (maybe slightly more at UA even though I didn't get the AIMS scholarship.)
I really like the campus at Boulder but which school is more highly regarded? more prestigious?

My son is a freshman at CU Boulder this year. He is an aerospace engineering student. When we were at the Engineering Orientation in August, they told us the School of Engineering at Boulder was ranked 18th of all engineering schools. For his major in aerospace engineering it is actually higher than that. I do not know what Unviversity of Arizona is ranked at but you could certainly find out…

The engineering program at CU is one of the best in the nation. unfortunately along with this high rank comes that fact that it is gruesome. If you make it through, you will be set up fairly well to either continue your education after undergrad, or find a job. Aerospace engineering is especially high ranked, not only because of it’s difficulty but also because the school’s direct connection with NASA.

CU is ranked 39 and AZ is ranked 44. We’re not talking about MIT here. Go to the cheapest one.
