CU Boulder vs University of Washington: civil engineering

I’m currently a junior in high school and am torn between CU and UW. Both are not apart of the WUE, so the out of state tuition is relatively the same cost. I have visited both campuses and like both, but will probably end up living in colorado after college anyways. I do have some family in Washington that i could move in with and gain residency before i go to college if that’s possible.
I plan on studying civil engineering while minoring in graphic design and/or manufacturing. I have heard positive things about both schools but haven’t really looked specifically into civil engineering at either.
thanks for your help in advance!

Until you apply, are accepted, and look at your financial aid packages, it is far too soon to ask “A vs. B?”

Sit down with your parents and run the Net Price Calculator at each university’s website. Talk about whether either place can be made affordable. If they can be, apply and see what happens. If they can’t be, track down options that you can afford.

You probably can’t just move in with relatives to gain residency. Check the university’s residency policy for specific details.
