CUHK vs UVic vs UAlberta vs UTwente vs Purdue vs VT

Hi everyone,
I am an international student and I have been accepted into the following universities -
Chinese University of Hong Kong
University of Victoria
University of Alberta
University of Twente
Purdue University
Virginia Tech

Programme of Study - General Enginnering

I know that on this forum, everyone is concerned about the money and some will recommend that I should go to whichever is cheapest. So, I will state the cost of attendance -

The Chinese University of Hong Kong - $27,000
The University of Victoria, University of Alberta - $28,000
The University of Twente - $24,000
Purdue University, Virginia Tech - $49,000

I believe that the ROI plays a very important part in deciding the university. So, I request you to please answer the following questions -

How is the international environment? Do Hong Kong, Canada, and the US students and teacher get along with internationals or do they mind their own business?

How are food and housing at the universities?

How are job opportunities in the Netherlands, US, Canada after graduation? (I also intend to do internships)

Is the education in Hong Kong and Canada more exam-based (like India or China) or is it more about practical like the US?

Most importantly, how are the professors? Do the professors like a damn about teaching or are they just interested in research?

Also, the best rate of investment?

Thank you for all your help!

How did you decide on this list to apply to?

The reply date for institutions in the US was May 1. Did you get an extension of that date from VT and Purdue, or did you accept one of them and just now get off the waiting list?

VT and Purdue are not automatically $80,000 to $100,000 better than any of the others on your list. There also is the issue of finding work in the US for any practical training after graduation. Many international students aren’t able to do that. If your goal includes work experience after finishing your studies, Canada and Australia have much friendlier work policies.

I would go with Alberta or Victoria or Twente.
Check policy on internships in the Netherlands.

It’s easier to work in Canada after you graduate there.
Canadian unis and American publics are essentially the same.
