CUHK or University of Victoria

hey all, I am an international student from India and I applied to Hong Kong (CUHK) and Canada (UVictoria and UAlberta).
I got an admission letter from CUHK but I have to accept it by 20th April! On top of that, I haven’t heard back from the Canadian universities. My program choice is Mechanical/Electrical engineering. Opinions??

I have only been to University of Victoria & CUHK. While I like both campuses, Victoria is breathtakingly beautiful with stunning scenery. But I suspect that engineering is better at CUHK only because I know nothing about engineering at the University of Victoria.

Hopefully my response will help to generate responses from those with more knowledge about the engineering programs.

P.S. Victoria is among the most beautiful locations in the world.

Thanks a lot for the reply, but unfortunately, it doesn’t help me a lot. I attended to work for 2 years in the country I do my bachelors to pay back my student loans and then do my master’s from the US. I heard that it is easy it get a PR in Canada. Is it true? And in terms of education, do you think CUHK (China) is more focused on academics and EXAMS?

Yes you can work for 2 years in Canada with your Bachelor’s degree. The pay will likely be higher than in HK but cost of living also will.

@MYOS1634:

Cost of living in HK is quite high. Higher than most places in Canada. So is pay for professionals.

Ok, my bad. Even if HK&Shanghai have high cost of living, I thought West Coast Canada was definitely the worst, but I admit I haven’t checked and with HK’s dual history it’d make sense.
