Is the culture/ college experience at Stanford more similar to UCSD and UCSB?
not at all. Stanford has a small fraction of the student population attending any UC so, the student experience is complexity different.
What I meant to ask is if the social life at stanford is more fun like UCSB or boring and quiet like UCSD because the campus is so spread out
Stanford is nothing like either school.
Stanford is a private school.
The student population is smaller but the property is huge, beautiful and historic. Students are incredibly smart and social. That’s my interpretation.
You NEED to visit all the schools. Strangers on an online forum cannot select a university for you. Since your previous posts are especially specific about the school experiences:
No culture shock, no cutthroat environment, non-boring, a non-difficult/uncompetitive pre-med program and fun? You need to visit the schools because no-one knows what will work for you.
The UC’s are public universities.
Santa Barbara is social.
UCSD is not as social as UCSB.
Are you referring to “social” as in attending parties/fun activities when not doing schoolwork?
We’re also curious about how the UC campuses compare with regards to awareness and activism as they relate to social issues (race, wealth distribution, lgbt, religious freedom, etc)?
