cumulative gpa?

should I withdrawal from a class I know I’m going to fail, even though I’m going to do it over? (I plan on doing it over the summer, etc) So instead of a F I get a W?

Only problem with this is cumulative GPA (factors both grades in), my school doesn’t show both grades on GPA, only the recent one completed. Do/would employers care about this?

My understanding in Engineering a 3.0 is the magic line. The majority of ads just say must have a GPA over that. Some ads so say that for in major classes only.

A W is better than an F in almost all situations.

Employers likely won’t care if it doesn’t affect your GPA. They generally don’t see your transcripts (unless they specifically request to see them) so they will never see the W.

Take the W, it won’t affect your GPA and there is no stigma associated unless you make a habit of doing it.

Take the W. When hiring recent grads, I would always ask for a transcript. If either one is shown on there, be prepared to answer questions about it. It wouldn’t necessarily mean I would have rejected you. Depends on the rest of your grades. One mistake is not fatal, but a pattern of poor grades is.

Yes withdraw. Do to take an F if you can help it. But continue to audit the class.

It depends on the employers, they do request your transcript before interviewing.
