CUNY / SUNY transfer decisions?

^nope, NJ is just my home state haha, moved far away for college, i’m applying to 1 NJ college as well as my 4 SUNY choices

just curious, humpista what was your gpa for transferring to Baruch?

Thank you everyone

My gpa was only 3.2, so glad I got accepted!

I have a 3.76, applied to hunter, brooklyn, baruch, and ccny in that order. anyone else? hear anything?
my automated phone response thing is still saying “complete and under review”

Few days ago when I checked Hunter they were no longer taking applicants for transfers, so you should receive a notification soon. Brooklyn is still open though. Good luck!

I got admitted to Stony Brook today, but I won’t be attending unless something happens with Rutgers. My GPA was 3.37 I applied as a biochem major and I would have been an out of state student.

Anyone with updates?? My Baruch app says its still ‘under review’

I was accepted to Baruch like a week and a half ago, however, since they only gave me until October 28th to respond, I had no other choice but to decline.

they send you a letter right? and is there another message they give you on the ‘hotline’ after “under review”?

any (new) news?
nothing here-

I got accepted to Hunter for the Spring.

@PRquin: what is that 1 NJ college? Rutgers? lol

@humpista; Hunter and John Jay only take freshmen and transfers by the application deadline. After a certain time, most CUNY schools have direct admissions where you bring in all materials (app fee, transcripts, SAT scores etc) and you find out the same day if you are admitted. Be careful though, some school have strict rules. Baruch only takes you as a transfer with 30 credits and a English and Math course.

Congrats on your Hunter acceptance!

No actually - Rowan haha. I despise the atmosphere of Rutgers, and they don’t have my path of study planned out very well/good reputation for it anyway.

Edit: I put in Transfer apps to SUNY Oswego, Fredonia, Plattsburgh and Cortland - and then going off topic I also put in ones to Rowan, Mississippi State, University of Mississippi, Grand Valley State, UNC Charlotte, and University of Alabama Birmingham.

Just found out on Stony Brook’s SOLAR website that I was accepted with a 3.53 as a physics major. It’s nice to know that I’m actually gonna be going somewhere instead of being lazy this fall.

@stargurl
what were your specs?
hunter’s my first choice, i have a 3.76. im getting nervous because i stil haven’t heard anything.

Congrats humpista! Hopefully when I apply to CUNY-City College I can get in. I have a 3.0 GPA atm and after this quarter I hope it raises.

Any updates anyone?

^^I was wondering the same. Looks like this is the school I would probably end up at.

@ PRQuin: Thank you. I am glad I am not the only one odd about Rutgers. Rutgers has my major but their is too much politics involve in the department. What is your major?

@ onetwothreeseven:congrats on your acceptance to stony brook.

@ listennup: what is specs?

everyone: are you guys in previous colleges or in the cony/suny system already?

i meant gpa/etc.
im at az community college.

my gap is around a 3.0. but the reason why they probably accept me was because

 1. I am already in the CUNY system at another four year and
 2. I am currently taking classes at Hunter on permit

There is a CUNY permit where you can take courses at different CUNY schools ( as long as it fits your schedule). So you can go to Hunter and take a course at Baruch. Or take a semester off and take courses at Baruch etc. I am not sure about SUNY system but it would probably be difficult to travel around Long Island/upstate unless you have a car.

@lisstenup: Why CUNY/SUNY schools? It is because it is cheaper than NYU, Columbia, Pace, New School and it is in NY?
