CUNY vs SUNY vs Cal State vs Pensilvania State vs Brigham Young

In Economics.
which university is the best & the worst uni?

What units of CUNY or SUNY are you looking at? I am not sure if you are from New York, but both the SUNY and CUNY campuses vary in regards to strengths. Additionally, which Cal State campus are you looking at (same as with CUNY/SUNY)?

One thing for sure is DON'T GO TO BRIGHAM YOUNG

whats wrong with Brigham Young?

most people hate on it because it is mormon(no partying, etc.), but i have heard lots of great things about it in terms of education and such

I'm not sure how big BYU is, but I was surprised to see how many BYU students were accepted into HBS last year (nearly 30!). It must have decent academics, at least.

my friend is mormon and he's been wanting to go to Brigham Young for a while. I'd want to warn him about anything bad.

Sorry, what's HBS?

Harvard Business School.

BYU is excellent academically, it's just unusual for non-Mormons to want to go there. If your friend is Mormon and understands the type of lifestyle they expect there, I'm sure it would be an excellent school for him.

I agree with pinnipotto. If you are used to that lifestyle, it's okay, but I've heard even caffiene is banned. So say goodbye to Coke/Pepsi/Coffee/No-Doze

BYU is an excellent school. Their accounting program is top notch. If you don't mind not being able to party (with alcohol), then BYU is a great choice. Athletics are huge at the school. The tuition is very cheap too!

Ill tell him that thanks.

Harvard Business School...got it.

cheap if your Mormon 30k+ if your not. School depends on what your aspirations in life will be, so give some examples of future career/educational goals

Thanks!

So, is Brinham Young bad for non-mormon?

I heard SUNY at Albany and Buffalo have a good economics department, right?

What do you think CUNY? for international students.

One of my friends wants to go there.

Do you mean business? SUNY University at Buffalo has a new high-tech business center and have a pretty good reputation when it comes to the degree. In fact, I plan on combining my BS in chemical engineering with an MBA (they do a 4+1 program for some majors). For everything else, I'm not really familiar with those schools so I don't know. I don't think CUNYs have as good a rep as SUNYs though.
