I was recently thinking about transferring to University of Michigan and I really concerned about how much financial aid I might receive if I decide I want to go[ after applying and hopefully getting accepted]. Is there anyway I can add University of Michigan onto my FAFSA account and just receive an official letter from them? The calculator on their website gives a pretty big range for how much I'll have to take out (owe) each year and it would just give me more comfort if I received an official estimate from their offices.

U of M requires PROFILE in addition to FAFSA. So no, just adding the FAFSA wouldn’t work.

U of M does meet need for in-state students though.

Problem is, I’m in New York. So tuition is a rather big concern for me

Tuition is going to be a big concern to you because as an OOS student the cost of attendance will be over 50k. have you run your numbers through Michigan’s Net Price Calculator?

The two biggest strikes for FA are an out-state-public and being a transfer.

Michigan is not good with aid for OOSers- especially transfers. The NPC they have is probably pretty accurate.

Unless you qualify for Pell you might not receive any other aid unless Michigan offers scholarships or other need based aid which I am not sure of.
