Curious: Duck fan in UW?

Being a ducks fan (from Oregon), if I got accepted into UW, I'm guessing it would be a good idea to leave the duck jersey home? I'm just wondering, um, if the university has a ton of school spirit and would spit on a ducks fan or perhaps a 'Cougs fan, or anyone not supporting the school team for that matter. Or if it would be no big deal. Thoughts?

Maybe I should buy a Huskies shirt and just support the school until I graduate. I'm not some crazed Ducks fan who would kill in the name of their team, I'm pretty "neutral"... or, calm I suppose. I'm more of a baseball person anyways... (Go redsox!)

UW is one of the most “school pride” type schools I’ve ever seen. It seems like everyone on campus owns at least one uw shirt/sweatshirt/etc…as you’ll see it everywhere on campus once school starts.

However, I don’t think anyone would be violent to you for wearing the ducks, maybe curious looks though.

Don’t buy a UW shirt just to blend in (that’s how it kinda sounds from your post).

Yeah I don’t think anyone is going to be violent against you, haha. But it might not be a bad idea to leave the ducks jersey at home – I do think it’s kind of weird to wear another school’s apparel when you aren’t going to that school. Just my opinion, though.

No problem wearing it in your dorm, if you want. Don’t worry too much about it. Don’t be flaunting it, anyway.

I wear other schools’ sweaters to class sometimes when I just want to throw on something warm and my UW stuff’s in the wash. Nobody really bats an eye at it, save for some of my friends teasing about how I like the other schools more =P

Hey… that’s all true EXCEPT when it comes to Oregon beware wearing it. Spitting is not out of the question

You should be fine most of the time.

^^I agree, because Oregon and WSU are UW’s biggest/most hated rivals…wouldn’t be a bad idea to leave the jersey at home!!

Seriously…nobody cares. It’s not like you will be duck taped to a tree or anything. Although, you may be looked at like your “special”. In otherwords, you took the short bus to school. We don’t tease the special kids…
