<p>The largest roaches I’ve ever seen in my life, without a doubt, were in New Orleans. Gigantic. Approximately the size of a Great Dane, as I recall. They walk down the street, they hang out in bathtubs, they’re everywhere. And, yes, I was told that they were actually “palmetto bugs.” </p>
<p>Knock on wood, I’ve seen no roaches anyplace I’ve lived in New York City or New Jersey in the last 25 years or so. No mice so far in my new apartment; Ziggy took care of a number of field mice who made the mistake of entering my last one.</p>
