cornell isnt a safety ofr anyone?
guess what? MIT is my safety!!
got into RSI hell yeah

lol... well in that case... but still, why would you apply to schools ur not going to, it seems kind of dickish, especially since i want to go to the schools u don't ;)... it would be ironic if you were rejected to mit...

free tuition at mit??? HOW!!!

My dad works there. In retrospect, I'm a really lucky guy after all.

I'm visiting Princeton, Columbia and UPenn during spring break..those along with Harvard are my top choices for now...We'll see what happens...

I still don't know if I should apply to MIT. I don't want to do engineering...I suppose it can't hurt to apply though...meh...I don't know...

zoogies... in ur case mit truly is a safety... 1600... dad works there... rsi... could you have it any better? haha

Hmm... I'm a Californian and here's my list...

REACH:
1) Duke (I'd love to go here) :)

FIT-REACH:
2) USC (Here, too) :)
3) UCLA (Yeah... here, too) :)
4) UC-Berkeley (No objections) :)

FIT:
1) UCSD (Not bad at all) :)

SAFETY:
1) UC-Irvine (Eligibility in the Local Context >>> ELC)... (I don't really want to go here) :(

I think it's funny...all UC's than duke, which is on the opposite coast. haha :p

1600? RSI? Who told you that? Are you confusing me with zogoto? Hehe. I got rejected from RSI and don't have my scores for the Mar. 12th SAT, the first official one I've taken. I could have it a lot better. I could, but I don't.

LadyinRed, hearken! Thou shalt apply to MIT, for it is l337, and not just in engineering; lo! Its school of humanities is great, too.

oh... yea i am confusing the two of you... lol... sorry* haha

It all depends on my test scores, but I think:
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (pretty sure I'll end up here)
Michigan State (just because it's nearby) - safety
Johns Hopkins - reach
Duke - reach
maybe Northwestern and Purdue as well

zoogies... in ur case mit truly is a safety.

Man was that good to hear, though :)

lol... but having a dad there certainly helps... i know a girl who got into penn with a 1400, and several c's on her report card... not just 1 or 2... cuz her mom works there

are you sure case western is harder to get into than kenyon??

hearken? <---who says that?!? :P

hehe...I'll think about applying to MIT...
it would be so odd..to tell people.."i study humanities at the Mass. Institute of Technology!" lol...I'm thinking about minoring in econ though, so it's not as strange...
grr...I was just looking at the website...why doesn't mit have a biochem major?? or does it?

I've been reading Tolkien lately. Don't mind me :)

I've been to every information session at MIT that I heard of. I think only one, but I've done a campus tour too...they shrug it off. People think MIT is just a math/science school, but they go to great lengths to deny that. I'm pretty sure MIT has a biochem major. It's got to. That or bio/chem separately. If MIT doesn't have a major that you want, though, you get to make your own program (as far as I'm aware). You decide your major after freshman year, so you could do that.

Hhhmmm I wonder what the colleges are like in foreign countries? o.o; XD Do any of you know any good ones from foreign countries?

Safety- UBC

others- UT(match-reach)
Waterloo (match)
Columbia SEAS(reach and ED)
cornell CAS or engineering*comp sci is avilable in both schools (reach)

Considering- Northwestern (reach and expensive)
MIT (no chance)
Calitech (no chance and way too little girls there)
stanford (same as 2 above, and expensive)
UCLA(match if I live in cali, huge reach since I dont)
Berkeley (huge reach outstate, and the size is not friendly)

being a girl really helps at mit and caltech... 11% acceptance for guys... approx 27% for gals

Although I have a long time in which to change my mind, if I had to choose today, my list would be:
(#)=order of preference

SAFETIES:
Earlham (6)
Lewis and Clark (9)

MATCHES:
Smith (1)
Grinnell (3)
Oberlin (6)
Reed (3)

REACHES:
Wesleyan (3)
Carleton (6)
Swarthmore (2)

Too early to be certain because I'm a sophmore, but...

Duke
UPenn
Brown
UF
UM

Does anyone know how good Duke's psychology department is?
