Current Applicants: Has anyone received a request for midyear grades yet?

I have yet to receive anything, although apparently USC has completed a preliminary evaluation of my application.

Anyone get a request?

Yes.

I already have the grades for three of my college courses, but it's the high school classes that are holding me up.

So did this request just come in the mail or did they send you some sort of e-mail notification? I'm guessing they finished the preliminary evaluation of your app as well?

Anyone else? ;)

NO! I'm still at "we have received and are reviewing your app blah blah check back occasionally." I'm really worried. It was last updated 12/9. Did they forget me?

mine was last updated on november 4th....

i check it like twice a day. some people had their preliminary review done in about a week, mines taking over 2 months. i have noooo idea why either.

Nope I have not my application is still under review

I recieved the same message as forgottenhawk
I think that once you get your senior year mid year report
you should just send them in as quick as possible.

did you do the dec 10th deadline?

Yep I turned my application in on Dec. 8th.

Okay, for everyone who's been getting this message:

"We have completed a preliminary review of your application. We sometimes request additional information (senior-year grades, for example), so be sure to watch the mail. You may submit senior year grades at www.usc.edu/MDYResponse, even if we did not specifically request them. We are continuing to review applications and expect to mail notification of a decision by April 1st"

Are you going to just submit when you get the midyear grades, or wait for a request? Will it look bad if I don't submit until they ask? My senior grades are probably not up to par with my past grades, so i'm getting a little worried.

Best of luck to everyone!!

My first semester grades don't come out until February, as I don't have finals week for another two weeks (it's the week of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day). I'm going to wait until February or the request.

I am going to wait as well. I have finals the same week as QuixoticRick (not surprising as we're both from the Bay Area, heh).

I've got my preliminary review now, it says. I haven't gotten a midyear grade request yet, but I sent them online. Now I need to mail them

Yeah, my finals are actually in the last week of January, and my school just said that they won't send out midyear reports till mid-February. And does anyone know around when the request for midyear reports come out? I always thought they were in January, since scholarship consideration people get their letters at the end of Jan.

I really hope they don't ask me.....but I'm sure they will. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how often they ask? Like 80% of applicants or something?

I'm pretty sure you're asked for your midyear grades if you're not a prospective Trustee/Presidential scholar. Last year, there were 138 Trustee recipients and 352 Presidential recipients. Total applicants: 33754. So you do the math ;)

But there's more prospective scholars than actual recipients right? Anyone got an idea of how many more?

omg guys i'm scared too! :(
im still stuck at "we've completed preliminary."
i seriously hope they wont request midyear because i have a stupid C+ in AP chem to hide from them!!

my prep school has been sending out all my transcripts and everything through an organized system.. if they ask for my grades should i just give the letter to my school, then they send out my mid-year grades??

im kind of wondering when i should be getting this letter too... within the month?

uhm okay so i found out my first semester grades and there actually much better than i had anticipated. so i think i actually might submit them by choice...should i wait till i get asked for a mid years or should i just submit anyway? k thanksss

btw, i mean self report since my school sends out our grades first week of february anyway...
