Current Bruins: Things To Bring

I know the typical list of things to bring to my dorm (clothes, hangers, desk lamp, blahblahblah) , but what are some unexpected or easily-forgotten things that new Bruins should think about bringing? Or things that you wish you would have remembered to bring your freshman year?

And this is random, but have any of you guys ever lived in a lounge room setting before? (because i know the official information about lounge rooms, but i haven't heard any students talk about them...give me the dirt!)

oh wow. six girls in one room...

lounge rooms are new this year. we dont even know if they're going to last, they are trying to find permanent housing.

tylenol, quarters, slippers, nutella :), ill think of more later....

i love nutella, mm...french class

nutella will save us all.

people have told me to bring ziplock bags, because who knows when we'll need them for some random random reason. leftovers, random knick knacks..

sunblock is something people might forget. although ive never been fond of the stuff.. haha..

stamps. batteries. these things can be bought on campus, but why buy them when you can get your parents to buy them for you? (sad, but i'm serious. and you might as well get them anyways)...

and although we're in socal, i've been advised to bring an umbrella.

im not too fond of the temporary housing with the lounges. i just want to get settled in already. and rent a microfridge unit if i have to, or at least figure out if someone else is renting one..with the way things are going, no one knows how long it'll last.

Bring an umbrella. When it actually rains during Winter Quarter, it pours.

No they're not - they had them my first year (i'm an ancient fourth year now lol). Some people got out of them as people moved around in housing and more space became available, but others were in them most/all of the year. I'm actually surprised they have that this year, even considering the 3rd and 4th years who are staying.

As for random things to bring, don't worry about it too much. Anything you find yourself needing you can buy up here or have you parents mail to you.
