a questions about visiting (next week)

i'm going down to ucla with a friend next week; we'll be staying with his sister in her dorm for three days/two nights. what should i bring? obviously pajamas...but what kind of clothes? is it hot right now or still rainy? what will be helpful for the bathroom...apparently i need flip flops for the showers, right?

sorry this is a random question, i just dont want to get down there and not have some essential thing

Perhaps the best person to ask is her sister. :)

Oh, and take a look at www.weather.com .

Yeah its been pretty cold here lately, but that could change drastically next week - check with his sister the day before you come up.

Saying that it's cold in LA doesn't really mean much...it's still warmer than most of the country.

don't forget to bring something for the sister and her dorm-mates if she has them. They are being pretty nice about hosting you, a few gifts from the outside world would be nice.

Hey, its cold for us - thats all that matters :)

i second that!! brrr

ah, good idea, i hadnt even thought of that!
(itll just be one gift though, she's an RA. i would feel bad if she had roommates, cause i bet it would be reeeally squished!)

Which dorm are you staying in? If you're in one of the suites/plazas then you won't need to bring flip-flops for the showers since the bathrooms are private.

as far as gifts, btw, it doesn't have to be anything fancy or expensive. People in the dorms always appreciate some home-cooked goodies, so if you can get your mom to make a batch of cookies or brownies or something I think she'd love them.

i'll be in either hedrick or dykstra. How are the bathrooms set up? Are there shower stalls or what? I have no idea what to expect. Will there be a line to wait to shower? Where do I undress? Ahh glad I'm doing this for the first time NOW instead of next fall
