How difficult is it to be accepted academically? my son is a very good student
What were your stats when you got admitted? I would love to go there
I graduated with a 3.7 GPA, all A’s and B’s except one C+ freshman year Geometry. 2 AP classes–English Lang Junior year (5 on Exam), and English Lit. SATs got an 1810. I think with main campus they are more lenient about grades, but definitely 3.0 or higher GPAs, unless you’ve got great creative talent to back it up–which a lot of students do! I also attended a 4 week summer program at Boston University’s Academy of Media Production going into my junior year of high school–I think that helped A LOT. If you get the opportunity to do a summer program, take it. It’s also worth noting that while Chapman has a high sticker price, they are great about financial aid. I have large need-based aid, and my roommate who graduated high school with straight A’s got a nice academic scholarship. Good luck! Chapman’s an awesome school (:
My son will be applying for Film Production. If he is rejected, does the school allow you to pick an alternative major? I know that for Loyola Marymount and UCLA, you are rejected from the school if you are rejected from the film program. I believe USC allows an alternative major is you’re not selected for your first choice. We hope to go for a visit to Chapman in a couple of weeks.
How competitive is it to get into the program as a transfer second year student?
Do you know anybody who was a spring transfer?
