How do transfer students at cornell fit in? Are students welcoming of the transfers into their groups of friends and stuff? Or do most transfers just tend to hang out with other transfers?

to redclawz: me?

oh... not me

I just remembered that this is a Cornell forum
lol ^.^

awk-ward...! :D

lmao just back away slowly and then run

Does anyone know about the music major? Is it tough to balance music with other classes even to double major?

Alritey, I recently lost my TI-83+ calculator and need to buy a new one for my various classes which require math. My question is, should I just buy another TI-83 and it will be fine, or will I come across classes which need a better calculator?

I'm majoring in Human Biology, Health and Society at CHE, btw.

you will not need a calculator at all for most classes. Actually, graphing calculators are forbidden at pretty much every single exam one can take. I have not heard of one instance where a graphing calculator was needed. If you're taking any math class, you will not get to use a calculator at all, and in physics and chem you only get to use a scientific calculator.

so what's the dress code at cornell. obviously there isn't one, but what do the students usually wear?

whatever it takes to stay warm during the winter. I don't think there's too much fashion with large jackets and stuff. And there are so many different people here that I doubt that there's one particular style that people wear.

I got a likely letter today and wanted to know about campus life??? I keep hearing about suicide rates and wanted to hear from current cornellians, what your thoughts are??

are the girls really as ugly as the rumours and CC rankings say they are?

suicide and ugly girls. hahahahaha.

it's a pretty big school. you'll likely find many types. most girls i know that attend are actually pretty good looking (and i don't just mean decent and not ugly). but then again, thats about 5 girls.

I'm not sure if this was asked already, but does cornell offer free private music lessons even if your not a music major/minor? and what about the practice rooms, do you have to be a music major/minor to use them?

No Cornell has extremey LOW suicide rates. LOWWWW lol. Such a bad rumor. It's because of the gorges...people think they would be good to jump off of to ur death I guess lol.

also anyone know if cornell has a marching band?

I've heard that students from other schools go to Cornell to jump off the cliff haha, maybe that's where the rumour comes from.

We do have a marching band, a very active marching band at that. There are also private music lessons, major or not.

Cornell's suicide rate is a lot lower than the national average. And gorge jumping is definitely something you have to do as a Cornellian.

Ya id u go to Cornell u get to jump into the water from giant gorges. Fun stuff!

do people drop out of the hotel school?

whoa...anyone can sign up for the private music lessons? for free?? thats awesome
