How difficult would it be for a econ student, who has yet to take any additional econ courses beyond intro macro and micro, to take an Econ Corporate Finance Class (level 400)?

You won't have met the prereqs for the class so you can't take it. I assume you're talking about Econ 435 which has the following prereqs ECON 301 or 311, 303, and 371 or its equivalent. Sometimes they don't check prereqs however with that many it is likely you would struggle. Next semester if you're trying to get the major requirements done you should take econ 301 and 302 as well as econ 371 or stat 212 (same class).

for some reason, i can sign up for many upper econ classes though i have yet to meet any prereqs.

I thought about registering for them but i realized it would be unwise to do so.

have you taken any of the upper level econ classes? if so, which ones?

It will let you register for upper level classes without having the prereqs but then the professors may or may not check to see if you have met the prereqs. The course registration system is not sophisticated enough to check your classes against the course prerecs.

The only 400 level class I've takne thus far is 482 (experimental) I'm signed up next semester for 443 (environmental) and 451 (development).
