Could any current or former bioengineering students please share their opinions on this major? I've heard that its extremely difficult and that many students who enroll in this major will drop out after a year or so.

What is your experience with this major? How easy/difficult is it to get straight A's?

It's not necessarily the material, but the workload. The material itself is very straight forward, as is every engineering discipline. But you are going to have to learn a lot of material...That's where people start to have problems.

I'd put the idea of getting straight A's behind you. Focus on understanding the material, not acing the test. You aren't here to prove you can get an A in a class. That was what high school was for. You are here to become a professional in your field. Period. If you don't understand that now, don't even bother coming.

Well the thing is, I've heard Business and Law school are all about grades. I understand that learning the material is the most important part, but in today's college admission system, grades are equally essential.

That's why I'd like to know how difficult it is to score high in this major. Since my final goal is more geared towards business/law, finding the right major to successfully get into a top business/law school is my first priority.

You really need to be careful with this. A lot of people will treat college as just another step in getting to their end goal. When they do this, they don't respect what they have to do in college, and suffer when it comes to grades.

And on the topic of grades, you need to keep in mind that grades should reflect your grasp of the material. NOT how well you did on a test. Think about it.

And about what major to pick so you can get to the next school...That is a very stupid question to ask. I hope you find out the answer yourself either this year or the next. If you can't logically work through as simple a question as that, you don't deserve to touch college.
