Current freshman in Steinhardt willing to answer some questions

Ask away any questions you have about chances or NYU in general.

I don't know if you'll be able to answer this, but is it possible to double major in both business and film? Or should I wait to do film during grad school?

Steinhardt = Ttt?

Could you chance me at Steinhardt? I have my own chance thread here:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=398673

What are you majoring in? Could you talk a little bit about the school unity on campus? I'm a little concerned about that because I know NYU has an open campus. Is campus life prevalent or does everyone just go out to the city?

I just thought of a couple new questions. Lol. Sorry.

How hard is it to double major (potentially in two different colleges)? Would internal transfer be difficult?

as a freshman, how easy was it to meet people? i am applying as a fall 2008 transfer to CAS. what are the classes like? discussion based, lecture? as many details as possible would be great. haha, sorry i have so many questions. how interactive are the students with professors during class? is it easy to talk to professors outside of class? how mayn hours a day do you spend studying?

thanks!!!

bummmmmmp! bump

I am looking to enter steinhardt in 1 year so any admissions device, what type of essay and subject you did would be helpful, PM me if you wish.

Someone please help me out. I am applying as transfer with 3.4 gpa and haven't really done any community work or anything extraordinary, although my teachers , well I would say 90% of them or so loved me as a student especially the discussion topics, politics, history, -
letter of recommendation and essay might help me.

Well, I guess since someone is going to help me out, I guess feel free to ask my any questions, it isn't fair for me to ask questions and not to respond- I see that nobody has answered my topic regarding cctop.

do u know if i still have a chance to get into any part of nyu with a SAT score of around 1300. do u know any1 with a score around there that got admitted?

Bump, did the op forget about this thread?

Heyy guys, I'm a freshman in GSP right now (on the CAS track) and I thought I'd pitch in a bit with answering a few of these questions (I hope you don't mind, stressedOut, I don't mean to hijack your thread)

vivelavieboheme- You may be able to give that a whirl at Gallatin, but call the undergraduate admissions office and they'll be there to answer it

mandela512- In terms of meeting people, you really have to make it your business to assert yourself and meet people- you have to go to where everyone is, they won't come to you. Do as much as you can to meet the people on your floor/building within the first few days or weeks, because once a certain amount of time passes, everyone wil lget acquainted and forget about meeting new people.
Whether or not classes are discussion basd or lectures really depends on the school that you're in and the classes that you are taking.
I find it extremely easy to speak with teachers outside of class because they all have office hours - you can either walk in or make an appointment with them. You can also almost always reach them by e-mail, which is convenient. I personally have found some of my teachers here more accomodating than those in high school - these are all based on my teachers, so some may deviate from my descriptions.
I think the hardest part about college is balancing schoolwork and having fun/hanging around campus - if you're good with time management, you'll be more than fine with the amount of work.

That's all I have time for b/c I'm VERY bad at time management and I'm in middle of writing a paper that I'm procrastinating.
Good luck everyone, and StressedOut- I hope you're not too stressed out w/ work! (sorry, stupid pun intended b/c I'm lame)

GSP is gallatin?

Okay, my main concerin is geting into NYU, the admissions essay and advice. I am beginning to have gitters about going to NYU as the city is expensive, and housing dont want to live in dorms as well as tuition.

Having said that, there are few alternatives, for me at the moment, and I guess the main concern is housing and having enough money to focus/concentrate on the city.

GEEZ, I thought NYU was a very social school,

It isn't- I always see people having fun, and smiling and talking to other people in the city, nyu folks of course esp around lower east side and union square.

Looks like, ill have to start facebooking people, or calling/inquiring, hmmm wait why not start in this thread if I get admitted, lol.

GSP is not Gallatin, GSP is an entirely different school.

Any essay advice, you can give me-? I have to choose the why do I want to go to NYU choice, its in the admin packet, any advice suggestion.

Can you answer some questions for a grad student?

does anyone know anyone that has gotten into any part of NYU with around a 1300/2400 on their SAT? My SAT are gonna be around there and my college advisor says i have to have at least a 1300 or something like that
