I'm a junior, currently with two AP classes (science and English) and a 4.3 weighted GPA for this year. My last year's weighted GPA was 4.00. My SAT is above 2000. I took two honors classes last year. I am in extra curriculars such as two varsity sports and play an instrument. I also am in two club cabinet positions. I am also in national honors society, CSF, and volunteer with different organizations. The problem is, I really struggle with math, and next year my choices are to either take AP calc AB or AP stats. Would I be able to get into UC irvine/ uc San Diego/ ucsb if I didn't take math my senior year? My next years planned course includes AP lit, AP bio, AP psych, and I would take AP Spanish if not the math . Thanks.

From what I’ve heard, never ever do the bare minimum high school graduation requirements when applying to competitive schools. What I mean is if your school only requires three years of math, please don’t just do three; schools will definitely notice that you’re not taking the most rigorous senior classes your school offers. You’re much better off taking regular math, even if it’s not AP or honours, than not taking any senior math classes whatsoever.

There are no regular math courses offered, only AP, Which is why I am concerned
