Current junior majoring in biology and I am completely lost and directionless

So, I just transferred to my current university and completely bombed my first semester here. I didn’t do well in all but two of my classes and my GPA is crap. I am a biology major and I chose biology because I got A’s while I was in community college. The biology courses are interesting and easy to me but its chemistry and math that are not my forte and this is where I am struggling. I am struggling so hard that I am ready to drop this degree. I am looking into changing into a whole new School, probably business. But I am so lost right now and I do know what direction to take.

I am on this site as a parent, but you remind me of me when I was in college. Here’s what I did in your situation: I took some math and chemistry classes at a community college. Some of the credits transferred and some did not, but when I re-took the classes for credit at my university, they were much easier and I did better than I thought I would. Also, Biology is a great major for going on to other things (health, business, education, etc) in grad school. If you switch majors at this point you could be looking at extra years in college and that time and money would be better spent in grad school. Good luck.

i wouldn’t switch unless your passionate about business. I think if you minor in business, that can give you an edge when applying for jobs. i wish i did that!
I failed my first math class, and my linear algebra, and my second chemistry class, and my first physics class. oh wow. lol looking back, its not that big of a deal, often they offer the classes in the summer. we joked that those classes were easier because the they didn’t have enough time to teach everything as the class was compressed.

but good news is that once your done your 2 chems and 2 maths, 2 physics, its all biology after that, YAY
