Hi everyone I wanted to get a little advise, I am currently taking biology :cells and tissue and I understand the information ! But on our 1st test everyone in the class got a 72% and lower , I failed. It sucked because the study guide had such easy questions but then the test was confusing . I recently chose botany because I think that’s more of the reason for my interest in biology. However,I feel as though It will be hard for me , if I am having a tough time with this class and it’s intro class how will I be in other classes(genetics and botany). Im doing well in chemistry class. I’m not great at it , but I under most stuff and do a lot better in it. My main goal is medical school, but I feel so discouraged already. This is already my 4 year in a community college and I just want to transfer already. I told my self that if I didn’t do well this semester I would change majors maybe towards English, since creative/ persuasive writing are my thing and it easy for me and comes naturally.I also do enjoy it.When I started school I would work full time and I was full time student I would get up 5 classes and have a3.5 but I don’t know what happened ? Did this happen to anyone ? I know I am going to have to retake biology for medical school and I know that. I will work hard for it . I just don’t want to kill my gpa. This coming up test I’m going to study really hard . I’m not giving up yet ! But I really would want to know if anyone had the same tissue of not doing as well as they would in their major and switched ? It work out better for you?
I majored in nutritional science which is mostly biochemistry. I had to take algebra through statistics. I failed algebra twice but was determined to do well. I took it again with the help from a tutor at school and got an A. If you really want to do this, you probably can. Biology and the sciences are like learning a new language. They are not something we do everyday. But over time, things start to make sense. Can you take this class at a community college and just take it to get it out of the way and only have to focus on it until you learn it?
