Current Kenyon students? Looking for insight

I’ve scoured college confidential for information about Kenyon’s social scene/ campus culture and still can’t seem to get a clear picture. I keep seeing contradictory opinions as to what weekends are like. Some say if you’re not into big parties you’ll be out of luck and bored because that’s all anyone does. My daughter wants to be in a place where there are plenty of students interested in doing other things… school sponsored activities (are there many?) or just hanging out with a few friends etc. She loved Kenyon after her campus visit, and it seems like the perfect fit except for this one nagging question.

Any students or parents of students who can speak to what weekends are really like at Kenyon? She’s not opposed to going to a party here and there, but she’s an introvert at heart (prefers small gatherings with good conversation to large parties full of small talk that can’t be heard over the music anyway.)

She is planning an overnight in the fall, and hopefully things will become clearer then, although she won’t truly experience a typical weekend since the only do visits during the week.

I hope this answer finds you well. I go to Kenyon and I disagree with what you’ve heard about parties. Sure, they are big here, but to say you’ll be bored without them is bologna. Take partying out of the picture- you still have clubs, student organization sponsored activities, concerts/music events, and of course the occasional dorm get-together with close friends. Rest assured she will have PLENTY to do, a lot of people I know have never been near a party and still have great weekends here. A Wednesday overnight wouldn’t be a bad option if she can only come during the week, she’ll get a taste of Kenyon social life then. I wish her good luck with her college process, I really hope this helps!

Thank you so much for all of the info-- that helped a lot!!
