Hey everyone! I originally applied to UVM just because the application fee was waived, but I have to say that after visiting and getting into the Honor’s College, it is my first choice. The Honor’s College is really what has me interested, along with the molecular genetics program, which I am yet to find at another school. Unfortunately, I am out of state, and so attending would leave me 40k in debt. I don’t know if it is worth it or not, and so I’m interested in the opinions of current students/alumni. Has going to UVM had led to any kinds of special opportunities or experiences for you guys? Is the Honor’s College really as great of a close-knit community in exceptionally nice dorms as they make it sound? How challenging are the academics? It seemed like the school was very active as far as activities go and Burlington was a really cool college town…is there sufficient opportunities for fun (not drinking/partying)? Is it difficult to maintain self-control around the Ben and Jerry’s located right in the student center? Any input/info is appreciated…thanks guys!
Hi, one idea to bring the cost down, is if you are in the New England Tuition Exchange area, to double major in molecular genetics and something that is not offered in your state. I was told by the financial aid office that you can stack the discount onto your scholarship.
As far as answering your questions, hopefully someone who has gone there will step in…
I’d like to hear some input on this as well
