Current students:
So, I had AT&T when I started my freshman yr. Then I switched to Vzn beccause the service with ATT sucked, I had more dropped calls than I wanted. However, my next investement would be an I phone. Does I phone work ok in DC?
I am not sure if to switch again vs wait for Vzn to come up with their I phone which could take another year. Any thoughts?

I am not a current student…but from the time I have spent in DC, it makes the most sense to keep VZW simply for the metro. If you are interested in an iPhone, there is the speculation of one coming to VZW but why not look into an android device? The Droid incredible coming out in a few days looks like a worthy iPhone competitor…

Just my thoughts,

I cannot speak for Verizon’s service in DC, but I can tell you this. IT SUCKS!!! I’ve had Verizon 2x in the past and 2x I’ve canceled my service! The reasons:

1) It was fine for a few months then I began dropping calls like there was no tomorrow.
2) Was it the location? NO! I had their *ty service in Los Angeles, and in Madison, WI. Both places, same issue!
3) Let’s say, and this is a BIG if, they have the “best network” that doesn’t mean anything if you’ve got the best satellites and stuff but your *ty hand sets aren’t worth a damn and can’t draw the signal. (WHICH WAS MY CASE)

The reason Verizon doesn’t dominate over the cell phone market (since people think it’s soo great) is that while maybe they might drop less calls (which it doesnt) their actual phones (which you talk on) are crap.

AT&T has better phones which draw signal better and overall are more versatile. And you don’t get charged for every little thing.

I’m no AT&T spokesperson, I’m just a customer from 3 different cell phone providers and I can tell you AT&T all the way.

Thank you for your opinions and advice!

The real question is iPhone, or something else?

right, I am looking into the I Phone, so it would be nice to know if it really works

I had an iPhone and it worked perfectly. But this past summer, my job required me to have a blackberry so I had to trade it in. However, I will be due for an upgrade in September so I’m definitely getting my iPhone back. Also, if you’re going to get one wait until July when the 4G comes out. I’m sure it’s going to be awesome!

Can’t wait! Thanks again!
