I also highly recommend 19P. I started off with 14P, but it wasn’t enough food. Now I have 19 regular (I forget the actual name, but the non-Premium one) and I have several problems with it. For one, it’s annoying having to eat on a schedule and not being able to swipe others. Also, when I know I’m going to leave for a weekend or miss a meal I feel obligated to eat dessert or get coffee even when I don’t want it just so I don’t let my swipes go to waste.

^^^ So how bad would you feel with premier having to waste roughly 60 bucks worth of food on a case of water?

check this, [The Daily Bruin :: ASUCLA-run restaurants to increase food prices in June](http://www.dailybruin.com/index.php/article/2011/05/asuclarun_restaurants_to_increase_food_prices_in_june)

$60 = 50 swipes (when comparing 19P to 14P), so you can get a lot more than a case of water with that.

^^^ 60 dollars equals 50 swipes?
You can’t just take the difference between 14p and 19p. You are leaving out the cost of the meals in general before those values. In essence, UCLA could charge 100 per meal for meals 1-14, and then only charge 60/50 for each meal thereafter, but it doesn’t work like that…

Okay buddy, lets do some math here…

If you weren’t using a meal plan and had to pay out of pocket for meals, the prices range from roughly 5 bucks at bcaf and rendezvous to 9 or so for the dining halls. Lets just go on the low end and say 5, I’ll even say 4 dollars. 60 dollars/4 = 15 swipes. 15 swipes = 30 waters. How many waters are in a case? (Okay, 24, but my point is made and validated)

This is pointless. The people in this thread have already decided to live on campus, so not getting a meal plan isn’t an option.

It’s a sunk cost. If you’re choosing between 14P and 19P, then the decision you have is whether to spend an extra $205 for 170 swipes. That’s the only difference. That works out to $60 for 50 swipes.

You do realize that you can get things other than water that have actual monetary value don’t you?

cool story bro
