I got in to Gallatin ED this year. Sometime after I sent my application, but before I got in, I dropped AP Latin Vergil. I did so because mid semester the school fired the old teacher, which totally disrupted the class. On top of that, I have had three latin teachers in three years. I still have AP Lit. AP Politics, AP CalcBC, Marketing III, Two hours of a marketing internship...& my required P.E. class. I got a 4.0 last semester & I probably will this semester. Although I wasn't worried before, I have read some of the NYU blogs and facebook.

So...current NYU students. Have you dropped classes after admission? Will NYU do anything? has anyone heard of NYU rescinding? Should I call, or will they even notice?

Nope, NYU will not rescind because of one dropped class. I dropped AP Spanish after my first semester received no penalties. Don't worry, you still have a rigorous schedule and your GPA is still great.

Read the heading, but didn't and don't have time to read your post. They rescind only if you drop AP Latin. How and why, I don't know--so no big deal.

Yes, I am kidding you in an attempt to calm your understandable concern. You are very well qualified and, apparently, hard working, as well. At most schools, a student's acceptance will only be rescinded if the dropped class results in a failure to graduate.
