Ok so I got in ED to GSP. On a recent post someone said that they have heard people with Bs getting rescinded?! That can not be right? Can someone (particularly someone who is currently at NYU) comment on this. I was expecting this to be my only break for the next four years, and have been slacking off somewhat. I will most likely end with a mid-high 80 average (I had a 92 when I was accepted). Thanks for the help I'm kind of freaking out!

uhhh, yeah people get rescind sure. But you gotta screw up a whole lot for them to do that to you. Like if your avg goes down 10 pnts. Or if you fail. If you go down like 3 points or 5...hmm, they could put you on probation all the way from the start. I don't go to NYU yet, sorry, but I called them and asked the very same question. If you get a bad grade (but passing) in one class, but you do fine in all the others, you'll be fine. But slacking off completely will get your butt kicked--honestly.

WHat if your GPA dropped like .4 or .5 points? (But no C's) If we make up for it and do really well second semester it should be ok right?

i doubt they even look at your GPA. they'll look at hte breakdown of grades and compare it to the class levels. just looking at an unweighted number says nothing. stop stressin!

hmm ok heres my question...if had a C+ in AP Calc BC (which ranges from a 78-84 in my school) and got a C for the semester. NOw, NYU accepted me with a C+ and my grades remained the same for the rest of my classes. Am I in trouble?

Basically I went from getting A's and B's to getting all B- and one A- in an elective class. lol. Pretty sad if you ask me. im just gonna work hard second semester to get as many As as possible.
