This is related to the types of housing available at the university.

Which residential area would be the best
a. for Incoming freshmen;
b. in terms of food quality available;
c. in terms of whether it is for people who like quiet and calm or those who like partying;

Which residential hall is more centrally located and accessible to halls,supermarkets ,etc?

When we talk of co-ed housing, it is based on room-room,floor-floor basis or the whole building in random sequence?

I’m an international student. So please state the reasons for your answers, if possible. Thanks.

Well I am also just a prospective student but I figured I would offer my opinion on the questions I know something about.

This depends on what you are looking for...
a. They do have freshmen only dormitories in the Super Block the two that are freshmen only are Territorial and Frontier, but they might not necessarily be the best dorms for incoming freshmen if a community of people who are in your same grade is not what you want
b. I do not know if there are differences in terms of the quality of the food from hall to hall but I do know that you can eat at any residence hall you would like to
c. I have heard that the party areas are closer to the superblock residence halls (Territorial, Frontier, Pioneer and Centennial) as well as near the frat houses. Comstock is known as being quieter with fewer parties and more studying.

Most halls seem to be relatively central to the Union on campus, and I personally don't think there would be one hall that is close to everything you would want to access. When I visited the campus it seemed as though the difference in centrality would be minimal (almost non-existent) and one other thing I learned was that to get to a Target, Wal-Mart or full grocery store you have to take a bus and most dorms are very close to bus stops. Of course there are smaller markets around campus (so many that wherever you are there is sure to be something around) but you might not find everything you want there.

I may be wrong on this but I believe floors can be mixed gender but when Housing assigns rooms they try to do it in such a way that in order to get to your gender's bathroom you do not need to pass any rooms of the opposite sex. Please do tell me if I am wrong.

Anyway, I hope this helps admitman :)
