Extra Info: I live in southern California btw and my high school is super duper competitive

You will need to calculate your UC GPA capped weighted and fully weighted. UC’s only use 10-11th grades so you need to complete Junior year before you have an accurate UC GPA.

https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

You can calculate it now and I can give you some statistical data to help gauge where you stand.

New Info: so like for to years of summer I took summer school and I got two A’s from that so it’ll be counted in my gpa

UC Unweighted: 3.86
UC Weighted: 4.0

You want to target the UC’s where your UC capped weighted GPA and test scores at the 50th percentile or higher for the best chances. UC’s tend to be GPA focused, but your test scores, HS course rigor, personal insight essays and EC’s will all contribute to your chances.

I would start by identifying a safety school or two first and then build your list with 3-4 target/match schools and a few reach schools.

If your UC capped weighted ends up to be at around 4.0, then here are some admit rates. These admit rates to do not take into consideration of your intended major.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19:

UCB: 12.6%
UCLA: 11.7%
UCSD: 38.7%
UCSB: 53.6%
UCD: 56.5%
UCI: 52.1%
UCSC: 75.7%
UCR: 90.1%
UCM: 96.1%

25th - 75th percentiles for ACT:
UCB: 30-35
UCLA: 31-35
UCSD: 28-34
UCSB: 28-34
UCD: 26-33
UCI: 26-33
UCSC: 26-32
UCR: 22-30
UCM: 19-26

2018 UC capped weighted GPA averages:
UCB: 4.23
UCLA: 4.23
UCSD: 4.16
UCSB: 4.13
UCI: 4.13
UCD: 4.11
UCSC: 3.96
UCR: 3.81
UCM: 3.71

Possible safety schools: UC Riverside and Merced
Possible target/match schools: UC Santa Cruz
Possible High Match (50:50): UC Davis, Irvine and Santa Barbara
Possible Low Reach: UC San Diego
Reach schools: UCLA and UC Berkeley

Since you are a California resident, I would add Sacramento state (proximity to the State capital) as a solid safety and maybe San Diego State and Long Beach as Low Match/Match schools also.

Best of luck and work on getting your ACT into the 30+ range for more options.
