This is kind of off topic, but I found this video on Youtube made by Exeter students, and it's called the "Exonian Movie," sort of mimicking the show "The Office." You should definitely watch it! YouTube - Exonian Movie :)

hahaha that was soooooooooo funny!

better study habits? haha all my friends say that too. :/ i should start listening...ugh but i'm so mad right now! Today I went to Buddhist Meditation to try and relieve my stress but all I got was an HOUR long lecture from some pompous man who only talked about the places he went and how meditation works for HIM. My god, we didn't even get to meditate...And apparently the usual meditation leader is coming back for the rest of the YEAR. I'M STUCK WITH THIS MAN FOR FOREVER. AHHHHHHHHHHH.

sorry.
that was really random.
anyways, as for the only two spectators at a bball varsity game...i highly, highly doubt that. While I have seen almost no people at a jv game, trust me, there will be more than two people at a varsity bball game. I've been to almost most, and they all had at least ten or more Exonians. :P

and mpicz...

continuation

i meant usual meditation leader isn't coming back.
and mpicz, if you don't go to the school, don't talk bad about it. Simple as that. And type better please. :]

krncowlovar, you're the one complaining about Exeter. Remember that just about everyone on this thread would kill for your place.

I think you guys are way too wound up. An actual student attending Exeter says something that bursts the bubble of the rosy idea that boarding school "is just so amazing." My daughter has hated boarding school. Everyone I know that is currently going or went to boarding school has had moments of hating boarding school. I think it's great that someone at Exeter actually takes the time to post on this forum at all, considering that it is largely made up of a bunch of hysterical threads: ZOMG !10 days!!! Andover vs Exeter XVII!!

The best thing you could do, instead of attacking the krncowlovar, is start to temper your idealism so that it doesn't all come shattering to the ground if/when you attend boarding school in the fall. Why not learn something from what he's telling you?

Well, excuse us for wanting to believe we'll enjoy our boarding school educations!

Tom... Shush! Grejuni is very respected on this board. :D
And not to mention I completely agree with him.

You may want to enjoy your education, but it's HIGH SCHOOL. Which sucks. High school always sucks, and you're always you where ever you go, so you're probably going to be unhappy/stressed/angry/sad at some point. If you're prepared for that, you're a step forward in the right direction already.

Oh, is he/she? Speak for yourself...

Alrighty then. :) I just think you're edging toward rude. Just because it's the internet and we're all high strung, doesn't mean you can be rude when you feel like it. You're a nice guy! So play nice.

Yep, and your post about your global studies teacher's daughter conforms perfectly to the guidelines you just mentioned.

Yeah, that was a mistake. And I learned from that.
What happened, Tom? You've always been incredibly well spoken, if not always "nice". Are you having a bad day?

I'm okay. The Exeter relinquishing need-blind status was a slap in the face/a kick in the balls.

Yes, my D was a straight A student throught middle school. However, at the beginning of BS last September, she was frustrated since the math class she took(Algebra II Honor) was rough and she had a lot more homework than she expected in all the classes.
Some of her friends who came from long distance cried due to not only the rigorous program but also a kind of homesick. My D was so excited before she went to BS like othe kids. But most of BS kids need some adjustment period. Now she is doing great although she has to work harder to keep up the good work. When she was frustrated, I was not sure if I did right things. Now I am very pleased with the BS and how she is doing since I see my D grows and get matured everyday and I cleary see her strong motivation for success. She is willing to challenge to harder work.
Remember that BS is not easy school at all and the grades are much tougher than you expect. at my D's school average B is Honor student and average A- is high Honor student. It is not easy to find high Honor student. Average grade is B-. These kind of graded are common in BS.

Aaah, that makes more sense! That was harsh of Exeter. Couldn't they have kept that to themselves until AFTER March 10th? We're freaking enough as it is.

Is it just me or does erkybk's post move down the page with every new post?

yeah. Though it doesn't affect me much. It still sucks that they're not need-blind anymore.

That post is like... a phantom post. :o It's weird!
It's not just sucky, it's kind of backstabbing. I mean, they only kept it up for a year. They have more money than most schools who are traditionally need blind!

Yeah, and there's been no formal notification. The only place it's been released has been in the Exonian, which is paper only. Way to keep us all in the loop about admissions policies... I'm just happy that Andover appears to remain need-blind. Exeter is my third choice anyway, after Deerfield.

Andover has been much more responsive to my needs during this process, while Exeter has nearly ignored me completely. I'm not expecting an acceptance from Exeter come Tuesday, especially because of my FA status.
