Curve for JAN 08

I think CR will have the common -2 = 800

Really? -2 = 800? On the June test I got -6 = 730, which I guess fits with that... But I really hope there's a better curve! It KILLED me, especially the poem one and the scientist one.

I thought writing didn't go as well as it could either. Not because it was hard, but because I had TWO long writing section IN A ROW. Ok CB, at least TRY to hide the variable section. I didn't know which one was the variable one, so i did both to the best of my ability. Needless to say, by the second section, I was burned out (writing has always been the most tiresome for me). Quite frankly, I couldn't care less whether there were 3 E's in a row, i just let them be. Luckily, my essay topic was easy, and I wrote a 11-12 essay; hopefully that evens it out...

I still think CR this time is harder than most of the BB test. I still think we are likely to see a slightly easier curve.

Seriously...I know exactly how you feel, SunPenguin. The first Writing section just ruined me. I was tired after the first that I didn't concentrate enough for the second one. I mean, comon, it's 35 questions back-to-back...so I just didn't even bother to check a few of my answers.

The scientist and poetry: totally bad. I was practicing each day for the passages and totally froze yesterday for the poetry one. Ughh. I was dreaming for a 800. There it goes. I left 3 blank altogether for CR.

Writing the 1st MC was hard for me, again 3 blanks. The 2nd one was easy.

I am not sure wht to say, but the Jan curve is always lenient I heard in the past. Hope the same here.

I have the Oct 07 QAS and you could have gotten 13 wrong on that test and still make out with a 650 (cr)... and it seemed easier than yesterdays SAT
On the math section, it was like 9 wrong and you get a score of 650..

Yeah..i almost lost faith after the 6th section, which is the first damn hard writing section..but luckily, i got a break right after the 6th section..I got back on track for the next and real writing section and did pretty well..i was so worried about the first one being real..lol

what would my score be with:
CR- 20 WRONG, 15 OMITS
MATH- 5 WRONG, 4 OMITS
WRITING- 4 OMITS, 4 WRONG

^The CR, I can say for sure it's below 600, and possibly below 500...
math must be above 600, since the curve should be good
writing... depends on your essay

zainuu: around 530 on cr and 650 on math (from oct 07 score table) the score ranges shouldn't deviate too much from previous SATs so I think these scores are pretty accurate indications of what you will actually get on the test..

what about anywhere from 3-6 wrong on the math with no omits?

ok, so then everyone had the math section with the cups?!
ARGHHH! I think I got all if not most of the answers in all of the other math sections except in that one! I would've thought that would be the test section, since I had 4 math... :[ I'm going to cry.

i hated cr. especially the translation passage.

^I believe that's a general consensus here on CC haha.

i dont think the curve for math will be as generous as everybody is making it out to be

translation passages the 1st one was a total blur for me. I could not understand heads or tails wht was being said. (:
Have u guys noticed tht we all got the same questions more or else. Like everyone got the same CR passages, math questions, etc, etc. Only variation was the experimentals n the essays I figure.

skygirl, thats how it always is.

does anybody know what 3-4 wrong in CR would be for this test? since it was hard, im hoping there's a big curve!

Please predict my score:
CR: about 11 wrong
Writing: about 9 wrong (9-10 essay)
math: 4 wrong
no skip can I get a score range around 30 points? thanks

I got 2-3 wrong on writing (essay was pretty well written with excellent examples, but missing a final sentence), 3-5 on CR, and at least 6 wrong on math.

Think I could still pull of a 2100+? I hope so...although this is my first test so I'm not too worried. :/

I actually thought CR was really easy, I didn't omit any questions and am only absolutely sure of one wrong, though I prob. made some dumb mistakes. Math kicked my ass, I was one off on 2 write-in problems and missed a lot of multiple choice.

wow, now that everyone is talking about how bad the CR curve is and how generous the math is i don't know if i should retake the test on march. the only two times available for my schedule is march and may. the rest of the test dates are for the subject tests.

i was wondering, since deadline is on tuesday should i sign up and retake it? from people's predictions on their score i know i'm not going to do well. i think i'll barely scrap a 1800. bleh.
