I was just wondering if it's a bad sign if that bit of information is still pending at this time : (

Everything else was received:

-Copy of parent's 2011 federal income tax return for verification
-FAFSA Data
-PROFILE Data
-Tax Information Form, Federal 2011 - Parents

I feel like the major components of my financial aid info has been received and processed (they requested the tax return for verification/tax information form only 2 or 3 weeks ago), but of course I worry.

did u get a email about it? cause im in the same exact situation as u & idk wat to do…

No. It just says “pending” under financial aid on usconnect. We submitted the tax forms and the custodial parent form on the same day, but the confirmation email just said they had received the tax from (on the 7th).

And I received the confirmation email the same day I submitted the documents, too.

well, mine says its still required, so i think ur fine. theyre prolly still going over it and finalizing stuff

Hopefully! I think they really wanted the tax form. I applied to another school that wanted the non-custodial form and I forgot to send it (oops) but I still got accepted with financial aid and all.

I think I’m mostly confused because I sent both of the documents at the same time and got an email within an hour saying they had received just the tax info. Yet the custodial parent form has been pending since.

Gah, so much stress ;___;

I wouldn’t worry over ‘pending’. Different people may ‘record’ the documents since the tax returns are via ‘Docufide’. You’re lucky you’ve been able to submit your docs. We’re still waiting for our tax return to be completed by our accountant. We had to call all the financial aid offices and they said that’s ‘normal’. They just ask for them early so they can hopefully give students a financial aid package with their acceptances. Hopefully I’ll get my return soon so we can at least have a package before the May 1st decision date
