Ahhh sent FAFSA/CSS too late!!!

Ahh ok so I just sent FAFSA and CSS TODAY, and I only saw that Caltech had a deadline of 2 days ago just now!! Will I still get aid????

I'd give them a call, but I doubt they will care. I don't think they could possibly review all the forms in a week.

I sent my CSS profile like a month late, and that seemed to be fine. Unfortunately, didn't do me too much good anyway.

Uh oh, I haven't even started mine yet and my mom just left for a two-week trip. This TOTALLY slipped my mind. With so much to do, finaid was the last thing I was thinking about. What should I do?

Call the finaid office ASAP and let them know the situation. They're great people and usually are able to work something out.

Ben do international students need to fill out FAFSA as well?because on the application it says "If you want to be considered for need-based financial aid, you must fill out the International Student Financial Aid Application and the International Student Supplemental Form."

No

FAFSA is only for U.S. Citizens

For your acceptance decision, does Caltech send out email or letter or both?

Letter, no email.

when will Caltech send out email/letter to inform that your application is complete?

I have the same question as HopefulDove actually, coz I haven't gotten any confirmation yet (mailed apps on Dec 31th)

I don't understand FAFSA. You can only send it to six schools. What am I supposed to do for the other schools I applied to??

There is a SAR form that can be sent to extra schools, but I think they are sent a bit later. I applied EA and forgot to complete my CSS until like a month ago, but they were very fast about sending me my aid and I got it a week ago. Yay!

any update on the RA application pool of Caltech?

My parents just got divorced. Do I need to redo FAFSA or any parts of my application?

If you're applying to more than 6 school, you complete the FAFSA & list the 1st 6 schools you're applying to & then you replace the schools with the next 6 schools on your list, etc. Remember, if/when you need to make changes/corrections, you will have to make it for ALL the schools again as well in a similar procedure.
You can talk with your HS guidance counselor about how a divorce affects your FAFSA & what needs to be done (if you're in college, ask the financial aid office).
