Anybody know if we find out about whether we got a scholarship at the same time as when we find out about admission?

i think we find out about scholarships later (in March or April), but i could be wrong.

This is one of the schools my son applied to. I think I read on their site somewhere that we'll know "mid April" at the latest. Kind of frustrating from a parent's point of view...that only gives us two weeks to decide (and travel) on the school he will choose.

scholarship information is included in the acceptance letter

my acceptance letter included the scholarship i got

For anyone who has received a merit award, is there a stipulation that you must maintain a certain GPA at Case to retain the award each year? If so, what is the GPA level required?

Back a while ago that was a big issue because so many kids were losing their scholarships. Then the level was a 3.2, I believe, and it has been lowered since along with some other stipulations. It used to be, all you need was a term with less than that level, not the cum. You need to ask these questions specifically, along with stats on how many kids lose these awards each year.

I checked with an admissions counselor today about the conditons that have to be met to renew scholarships: GPA must be min. 2.5 at end of freshman year, and min. 3.0 at end of soph/jr years. There was also a requirement for min. number of credit hours.
My question was specifically about the Trustee scholarship that my son received, but I believe this applies to others as well.

that's not too bad

From CWRU web site:

"One of the measures (although surely not the only one) is your SAT or ACT score. Last year, the median SAT for the entering class was 1320, and 71% of students scoring above the median received a scholarship, with an average amount of about $16,000. However, since SAT is not the only measure, 38% of students scoring below the median also received a scholarship, with an average amount of about $13,000. "

"Freshmen receiving merit scholarships - About 50%"

"Average merit scholarship - $15,000"

"A total of fifteen (15) scholarships through the Music Department and six (6) through the Theater Arts Department are available each year. Individual scholarships range from $2,000 to $19,400 per year. "

Tuition $ 28,400
Room and Board (double/basic meal plan) $ 8,636
Required Fees $ 1,078
Total Estimated Expenses $ 38,114

The acceptance letter says:

[quote]
Official notice of this award and any other merit or need based aid for which you qualify will be sent by the Office of Financial Aid when it has completed a review of submitted financial aid documents.

My question: has anyone received the "official notice" of award letter yet?

If so, how long did it take to get processed after you got the acceptance letter?

If not, does anyone know if there is a date that these will be sent out?
