CWRU vs. MSU Honors College for CS

Good day to all. I’m an international student applying for Computer Science this year, and I’ve narrowed my options down to CWRU and MSU (Honors College).

About cost, they are around the same for me, but MSU aid is all grant so I figure I might be able to take out a bit more loan. From what I have researched, MSU has a much more vibrant student life and I like its campus more, and I also have the benefits of Honors program. Case is more well known and seems to have better academics and connections to employers.

The enrollment deadline is approaching soon and I’m still deciding between the two. I personally like MSU more, but I would like to know if the better job prospects at Case outweigh the college experience?

I’d love to hear your opinions.

case has a good cs program and is known for their sciences in general… although msu is still good. it comes down to fit and which one you like better. imo case will open more opportunities in the future but the best option is the one that you can see yourself being at and succeeding.

Are you saying loans at Case and no loans at MSU? If so, then MSU based on fit and price.

Can you list your parents’ budget out of pocket (from current income and past savings) and net cost at both?
(tuition, fees, room, board) - (grants, scholarships) =

MSU and CWRU are both around 38k for me, while our planned budget is 30k/year. We have several options to meet the cost, worst being taking out a loan. MSU aid being all grant would mean lower debt compared to Case (which includes a loan of 18k total), but would better career opportunities at Case significantly affect how quick I can repay it?

I don’t think there’d be better career opportunities. Better guidance, closer interactions with faculty, more resources than at MSU – but your being in Honors offsets that. As a result, MSU Honors is the clear winner.
