Well, I have not checked my grade in that class but I'm sure it in the D+ to C- range. I'm in the second quarter of my senior year and I'm just overwhelmed. I've got varsity tennis practice, and some days matches like an hour away, every day. Consequently, my grades have been slipping a bit. However, I am only worried about AP Eng Lit because that class seems to be tolling me the most due to the work load and structure of the course, which require a lot of time and effort.

So, my question is will JHU rescind my acceptance just because of one D in AP Eng?

I'm currently taking AP Calc, AP Eng Lit, AP Econ, and Biotech

Assuming my grades end up as A, D, A, A, respectively, will JHU decide they really don't want me after all just for that ONE D in AP Eng Lit.

Is it possible that they understand my situation and work load? (I doubt it.)

JHU asks for your final transcript and if this is your grade for one quarter, then you still have time to bring it back to a C+/B range (if your 1st semester grades were good.) Also, rescinding admission is a pain in the rear for everyone; they generally try to hold that for disciplinary problems. If you do get the letter, it will most likely ask you to explain yourself and you may be placed on academic probation first semester. And I wish I only had to take 4 classes.

I actually did the very same thing. I have a c- for the third quarter of ap english lit, and am trying to bring it up fourth quarter. I was waitlisted, so I know that they don't really see grades until after that decision is made. I wonder if one C will really make a difference? Everything else is fine. Would they take back a spot they could potentially give me because of that?

One C will make no difference whatsoever. It would be nice though if you could take it pass-fail? That's what I did. it was AP Calc and I was a poli sci major so it didn't really matter.
