I’ve been trying to look up stuff on rescindance…so I know that if the D were a C, I probably wouldn’t have to worry.
But is a D bad enough to put me in danger? I’ll try to beg my teacher for extra credit opportunities to boost the D in question, but it may very well stay put.
I doubt it’ll be a problem, but clearly do all you can to get the grade up. Things are only going to get much harder…
Which class is this for?
A D is - as per what I remember of the admission agreement- puts you in danger of being rescinded. There’s no real way to sugarcoat that. However, from what I understand rescindations are handled on a case -by-case basis so it’s hard to say for certain what your outcome will be if that D stays put. If you had some kind of “one time” personal or medical issue that you were dealing with they’d probably be more lenient as opposed to if you’ve just been suffering from severe seniorities.
Try to do everything you can to bring that grade up and make a resolution to be on top of your work when you come to college. Even though covered grades are still in effect for your class, your first semester tends to set the pace for how you do moving forward.
Good luck!
@NixonDenier The class I’m getting a D (Hopefully I can bring it up to a C) in is AP comp sci. I’ve had very poor exam and project grades this semester so far. Not just senioritis; it’s definitely the hardest class I’ve ever taken. I have little intention of continuing the subject in college-- it just doesn’t click with me at all.
@saif235 Thanks, I’ll try my best!
Really there’s nothing you can do retroactively, so just try your best to get the grade up and more than likely you’ll just get a warning letter (if anything) from the school. An actual rescinding is an unlikely event - I’ve never heard of anyone from JHU actually being rescinded. I’m sure the school could always inquire, and it’s not as if you’ve become a Social Services issue skipping class, getting arrested and flashing schoolchildren.
