hey good luck guys.

the cookie better be something other than oatmeal raisin...

white chocolate macadamian nut!

ok new topic, but also a stereotypically girlie one:

Do you all (so tempted to put y'all) know who your prom dates will be? Or are you not going to prom? Or are you last minute types?

I'm definitely not sure. I'm 99% sure I won't be dating anyone come prom, but I don't know who among my female friends I'll ask.

Did anyone else find prom really anticlimactic? For me at least, prom was kind of boring--you get there, stand around, maybe dance a bit, mingle, and then that's it. The event itself is not super exciting. For us girls, I think the best part is finding the dress, having the hair done, nails, etc.

(p.s. Haha, if we get into Harvard, everyone, I will definitely be the token valley girl)

It's hard to decide...so much easier just not to go, but I like class events too much and I'd want to make sure all the planning and preparing pays off.

I'll pull a "When Harry met Sally" and find a mutual back-up also, justforgetme.

Well it depends on the prom, but ours is going to be awesome! And if it's not, at least we can ensure that the Senior All Night Party will be. Our Charity Ball (equivalent to homecoming because we don't have a sports team) was kind of bad because 1)the music was horrible (you just couldn't dance to it!) 2)i felt guilty because the friend I went with seemed to think it was a date.

Our non-formal school dances are pretty nice though, and sometimes we have students DJ (cheaper and they're more receptive to requests).

lol sunglasses, i'm the blonde asian, not literally though, so you'd have some competition there! i'm just completely gullible...

Wow, prom is pretty far away. I've never gone to homecoming, but prom is tradition for the seniors in high school, so I know I'm definitely going. Hopefully with my boyfriend if we're still together by that time. :)

It's funny because I have a few friends who have already started looking at prom dresses. Oh boy, it's definitely too early. Does anyone have a winter-type ball?

I went to a Winter Formal for this private all girls' school near me last weekend, lots of fun. We have a Winter Homecoming for my school, but I'm not sure how formal it'll be.

Aww, you guys look great together! You had a junior prom?

Junior/Senior

and thanks!

wow this really sucks..they are really strict when it comes to pics..

I went to junior prom with my then b/f and a group of close friends. It was a ton of fun. I'll definitely be going to senior prom, but I don't yet know who I'd go with. It's too ealry to tell. I have a few guy friends with whom I'd be happy to go, and I might be able to use my ex-boyfriend as a backup...that is, if he doesn't take his new sophomore g/f...

As for the dress, I haven't begun to look. I absolutely loved my junior prom dress. Maybe I should have saved it for senior prom because I don't know how I'm going to top it this year.

I'm really looking forward to prom, though. I hope to go with a huge group of friends this time, and these particular friends tend to go all out for these types of occasions. We could end up sleeping over someone's house and heading to six flags the next morning, or maybe we'll spend the night in NYC. Sweet. :)

I'm definitely planning on getting a hotel room for the after-after party.

heres a really good question: are harvard girls attractive, relative to other colleges?

yeh..i live in nyc.. so after prom..we will go to a club..then might just go to six flags the next day or somethin..

The Harvard girls that I saw when I went to visit were very beautiful. Well...not all of them, but many were. :) And obviously very, very intelligent also. When I stopped female student to ask her a question, not only was she very knowledgeable, she was extremely articulate as well. I guess that's expected, right?

In all truthfulness, I wouldn't know. But relative to what other colleges? Are you talking like Brown or like Univ. of Michigan?

the mere fact that a female is so smart and articulate automatically makes her sexy in my eyes :)

well on my campus tour (which was a couple days before the semester began), there were like 5 BANGIN girls out of like 8 of em. a pretty percentage. smart AND sexy, i love it. it really highlighted the fact that MIT had nothing interesting to me.

p.s. why are you talking about prom lol? its so faaar away. (our senior prom is in may dunno about urs)

mine is in may too..others were talkin about it so i said oo what the heck..blah blah blah..only hot grls?..what about good lookin boys..are there any?..heh
