I'm working on an essay for my English class, over the sense of justice in the book Animal Farm. This is getting irritating. I know what I want to write- all of my points, my ideas, etc- but I can't figure out how to say them.

I get that all the time. Really annoys me. Take a break and go watch TV, maybe that will help.

and you are asking for us to do what?

I was ranting.

BAWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Writers block generally applies to writing something for recreation/writing fiction or a book, not writing an essay for school. You’re procrastinating.

I enjoy these assignments.
I do these type of things for recreation. This is writers’ block combined with perfectionism.

Go to your mom or dad and explain your essay ideas in brief. Soon, you’ll find yourself finding the words and writing it. (Plus standing in front of someone who is waiting to hear what you have to say can be incredibly motivating!) Try it, now!

^good advice
I also pretend to explain/lecture my ideas to an imaginary class over and over again until I know what to say and how to say it.

Get rid of the perfectionism; it’s deadly and wastes way too much time. Type out all your ideas in a stream-of-consciousness mode, take a break, and come back and edit it. Much more efficient.

Ha, I have to have it written by third period tomorrow. :(

Our teacher didn’t tell us about it until Monday, after break, and I didn’t have time to start yesterday. I’m going to be up all night.
